摘要: In this paper, a compensation technique for realizing precise decibel-linear CMOS programmable gain amplifier (PGA) is described. The proposed PGA, employing an auxiliary pair, not only retains constant current density but also offers gain-independent bandwidth (BW). For verification, compact PGA (0.1 mm2) fabricated using 0.13-μm process and measured. measured control range from -16 to + 32 dB with 6-dB steps, while the error deviation of less than 0.35 dB. A 3-dB BW 60 MHz input P1dB -35 -5 dBm are obtained, dissipating lower power 1.2 mW under 1-V supply.
