摘要: Degradation of materials due to solid particle erosion is encountered in a variety engineering industries, either at room temperature or elevated temperatures. Nickelbased coatings are commonly used applications where wear resistance, combined with oxidation hot corrosion required. In the present work, NiCrAlY and Ni-20Cr metallic were deposited on an iron-based superalloy by shrouded plasma spray process. The characterized scanning electron microscopy, optical microhardness testing, x-ray diffractometry. Erosion studies conducted using air-jet test rig velocity 40 ms 1 impingement angles 30 90 deg. Scanning microscopy was analyze eroded surfaces. 3D surface roughness profiles samples taken Veeco Optical Profilometer. had slightly lower average porosity as compared coatings. observed rate coatings, however than that both deg angles. coating shown higher angle deg, whereas effect negligible for sprayed coating. bond strength might be one major contributing factors under tested conditions. mechanisms discussed.
