Indoor adventure training: a dramaturgical approach to management development

摘要: Adventure training (AT) as a movement has its origins in outdoor‐based experiential programs such “outward bound”. Recently, educators have questioned the educational value of “outdoor” component AT and there is an opinion that it novelty setting/activities provision psychological (rather than physical) risk are key elements. With this mind, indoor adventure (IAT) offers new possibilities for management development. Indoor‐based education removes uncontrollable outdoor factors climate, danger, emotional distress need physical abilities. These can be replaced by drama elements encourage engagement, fantasy meaning through theatre form. In paper theoretical development IAT discussed outline given revolutionary approach immerses participants themed dramatic experience with purpose developing things learning about teamwork, problem solving communication skills.
