摘要: This study focuses on the application of a simple screening approach to prepare and test heterogeneous mono- bimetallic nanoparticle (NP) catalysts for arene hydrogenation activity under ambient conditions in quick time efficient manner, as well detailed testing characterization identified active catalysts. Over 90 NP supported alumina were efficiently screened using toluene model substrate. Through this approach, four determined be active: RhPt/Al(2)O(3), RuPt/Al(2)O(3), IrPt/Al(2)O(3), IrRh/Al(2)O(3). These further synthesized tested bulk, RhPt/Al(2)O(3) was confirmed catalyst with highest observed rate all combinations screened. Further studies then performed, metal loading, temperature, pressure, substrate ratios varied determine effects these variables CS(2) poisoning performed number sites. From temperature studies, activation energy calculated 30.4 kJ/mol, which is moderate when compared other (42.0 kJ/mol Ru NPs, (1) 34.7 45.6 benzene cuboctahedral cubic Pt respectively, (2) have been reported). Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area measurements used characterize catalysts, where it that very small zero oxidation state NPs dispersed throughout high-surface support.
