Peptide nucleic acids having enhanced binding affinity and sequence specificity

摘要: A novel class of compounds, known as peptide nucleic acids, bind complementary DNA and RNA strands more strongly than a corresponding strand, exhibit increased sequence specificity binding affinity. Methods increasing affinity acids are provided wherein some comprise ligands selected from group consisting naturally-occurring nucleobases non-naturally-occurring attached to polyamide backbone, while other contain at least one 2,6-diaminopurine nucleobase C1 -C8 alkylamine side chain.
