摘要: Objectives: Previous studies have demonstrated that persons working with poultry an increased incidence of chest symptoms and decreased lung function. A study was undertaken to evaluate the usefulness airway responsiveness measurements diagnose presence airways inflammation relate this workplace exposure. Methods: The group studied comprised 42 non-smoking workers 40 controls not exposed organic dusts. evaluated using a standardized questionnaire for dust exposures. Airway measured methacholine challenge test. concentrations airborne endotoxin (1→3)-β-d-glucan were measured. Results Conclusions: Exposure levels in excess those expected cause effects airways. There significantly higher among compared (decrease 9.5 SD 7.5 vs 3.4, 3.3). Poultry had prevalence toxic pneumonitis, chronic bronchitis controls. Endotoxin buildings exceeded earlier suggested as threshold value inflammation.
