摘要: We report here the first three-dimensional structure of D1 C-terminal processing protease (D1P), which is encoded by ctpA gene. This enzyme removes extension polypeptide photosystem II oxygenic photosynthesis. Proteolytic necessary to allow light driven assembly tetranuclear manganese cluster, responsible for photosynthetic water oxidation. The X-ray Scenedesmus obliquus has been determined at 1.8 A resolution using multiwavelength anomalous dispersion method. monomeric and composed three folding domains. middle domain topologically homologous known PDZ motifs proposed be site substrate C-terminus binds. remainder likely extends across face enzyme, interacting its scissile bond with active Ser 372 / Lys 397 catalytic dyad, lies center protein interface
