摘要: In Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR), shape is one of the primary low level image features. Many representations have been proposed. However, most them assume knowledge boundary information which not available in general situations. Among them, region-based descriptors are only applicable to generic shapes, but also robust noise and distortions. this paper we study compare three region descriptors: Zernike moment (ZMD), grid (GD) geometric moments (GMD). The strengths limitations these methods analyzed clarified. A Java frame retrieval framework implemented test performance. experiments on standard databases show that ZMD suitable for terms computation complexity, compact representation, robustness, hierarchical coarse fine representation
