摘要: Abstract Mt. Etna volcano is located in a complex tectonic setting, with large sectors of its eastern flank sliding seaward at different rates. According to recent petrologic studies, the Etna's plumbing system has multifaceted geometry, variable space and time consisting storage zones depths, where magma ascending surface undergoes various processes, mainly fractional crystallization mixing. In this framework we investigated possible cause–effect relationship between displacement pre-eruptive magmatic processes shallow ( Furthermore, comparison data deformative patterns evidences that, from 1995 July 2001, aforementioned did not significantly influence dislocation, which stayed slow fairly regular. By contrast, onset 2001 eruption leads an acceleration movement as consequence ascent, primitive, volatile-rich, sub-aphyric basaltic deeper (about 10 km b.s.l.) reservoir, during 2002–03 activity.
