摘要: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a potent angiogenic for many malignant neoplasms exerting its function through activation of specific membrane receptors, that is, KDR/flk-1, residing in cells. Several recent reports indicate VEGF receptors are also expressed cancer cells, suggesting VEGF-originated cell reactions may parallel the response. Using novel monoclonal antibody, recognizing activated (phosphorylated) form KDR receptor (pKDR), we assessed expression pKDR normal and endometrium. A strong consistent cytoplasmic nuclear was noted normally cycling endometrium, including epithelial, stromal role menstrual cycle. Approximately, one-third 70 stage I endometrioid adenocarcinomas analysed exhibited an intense both cells peritumoral vessels. It such reactivity related directly to VEGF, VEGF/KDR complexes HIF1α (hypoxia inducible 1α) expression. Furthermore, significantly associated with poor prognosis. concluded pathway suggestive important biology this tissue. The unfavourable prognosis confers endometrial could be attributed activity, but direct effect on autocrine loop.
