摘要: Syndecans are membrane proteins controlling cell proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, and migration. Their extracellular domains bear versatile heparan sulfate chains that provide structural determinants for syndecans to function as coreceptors or activators molecules like growth factors constituents of the matrix. also signal via their protein cores conserved transmembrane cytoplasmic domains. The direct interactions signaling cascades they support becoming better characterized. These regulated by phosphorylation, induced clustering shedding syndecan domain. Moreover evidence is emerging concentrate in unconventional lipid might govern novel vesicular trafficking pathways. Here we focus on recent findings refine our understanding complex structure-function relationships these cellular effectors.
