摘要: Current video coding standards, and their reference implementations, are architected as large monolithic sequential algorithms, in spite of the considerable overlap functionality between fact that they frequently implemented on highly parallel computing platforms. The former leads to unnecessary complexity standardization process, while latter implies implementations have be rebuilt from ground up reflect nature target. The upcoming Reconfigurable Video Coding (RVC) standard currently developed at MPEG attempts address these issues by building a framework supports construction standards libraries tools. These can incrementally updated extended, tools them aggregated form complete codecs using streaming (or dataflow) programming model, which preserves inherent parallelism algorithm. This paper presents RVC its underlying data flow along with tool support initial results.
