摘要: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect high-frequency stimulation (HFS) subthalamic nucleus (STN) in patients with a subtype multiple system atrophy (MSA) which levodopa-unresponsive MSA parkinsonism (MSA-P) is predominant. After local anesthetic administered, electrodes were stereotactically implanted bilaterally into STN four MSA-P and predominantly akinetorigid symptoms. Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) scores evaluated preoperatively, at 1 month, long-term follow up. At month median decrease UPDRS III motor score 22 on 56-point scale (decreases 16, 13, 29, 15 points compared baseline for Cases 1, 2, 3, 4, respectively). This mainly due an improvement rigidity akinesia. II 11 52-point (respective decreases 5, 7, 9 points). 2 years (mean up 27 months) there 12 18, 21, points), 5 (with respective 17, 2), both off state. increase individual Schwab England 10 15% condition. There beneficial HFS these short-term basis. A larger prospective justified.
