摘要: Hypervariable minisatellite DNA sequences are short tandemly repeated that present throughout the human genome and implicated to enhance recombination. We have constructed a consensus hypervariable sequence analyzed its effect on homologous recombination in cells culture. The d(AGAGGTGGGCAGGTGG)6.5 is shown stimulate up 13.5-fold. stimulation occurs at distance both directions but does show quantitative directionality. Stimulation codominant manner, inherited equally products. Enhancement maintained, reduced level, when double-strand breaks introduced into substrates. Multiple unselected events promoted, preferential of reciprocal exchange demonstrated.
