摘要: Abstract Abstract. Garden warblers were trained in a laboratory experiment to visit four feeding sites at times of day. Within each site, food was available for 4·5 h. This consisted an initial period when the rate availability increased linearly ('increasing ramp'), 1·5-h constant ('plateau'), and decreased ('decreasing ramp'). After pattern had been learned, three experimental manipulations carried out probe trials test relative importance response local changes learned time-place controlling switches between sites. When all offered same continuously, visiting persisted, indicating role pattern. The cycle completed more rapidly low. advanced or delayed by 1 2 h, birds shifted their time direction shift availability, but smaller amount. shows that part switching chambers is controlled immediate experience. peak one site visited this earlier, there suggestion they responded decreasing ramp function than increasing ramp.
