Australian consumers' expectations for expanded nursing roles in general practice: choice not gatekeeping

摘要: While research has focused on the current and potential role of practice nurse (PN) in Australia, acceptability this by consumers not been investigated. In 2002, two independent studies were carried out into consumer perceptions PNs. A discussion between groups researchers at inaugural National Practice Nurse Conference 2003, identified significant similarities findings these studies. This article reports combined as they relate to consumer's desire for access health practitioner their choice, concern that PNs may assume a Gatekeeping role.
