摘要: Transcoding is becoming a preferred technique to tailor multimedia objects for delivery across variable network bandwidth and storage display on the destination device. This paper presents techniques quantify quality-versus-size tradeoff characteristics transcoding JPEG images. We analyze of images available in typical Web sites explore how we can perform informed using compression metric. present effects this image size information quality. also ways predicting computational cost as well potential space benefits achieved by transcoding. These results are useful any system that uses reduce access latencies, increase effective costs.
