摘要: Located around the coastal margins of Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans are 64 Large Marine Ecosystems (LMEs). Within boundaries LMEs, 95% world’s marine fisheries biomass is produced, ocean pollution most severe, habitats seriously degraded. The LMEs also important economic areas world, producing goods services valued at $10.6 trillion annually. It in collective interest civil society to ensure that resources risk protected sustained for present future generations. A pragmatic approach being applied by countries Africa, Asia, Latin America eastern Europe, supported $650 million start-up funds from Global Environment Facility (GEF) other donors. This LME uses suites indicators assess physical, biological, human forcing on ecosystem productivity, fish fisheries, health, socioeconomics governance. Applications identifying and, where appropriate, mitigating affects principal driving forces sustaining four compared evaluated context.
