摘要: In CuP the low temperature luminescence originates from eight transitions between a quartet (M = ±3/2, ±1/2) and doublet (M′ with M M′ denoting (approximate) eigenvalues of spin angular momentum Sz along fourfold axis. Here we report (1) selection rules governing polarizations transitions; (2) zero-field splitting ξ ±3/2 ±1/2 components for in an n-octane crystal (ξ 1·1 ± 0·2 cm-1); (3) photo-selection experiment on isopentane glass which it is concluded that ratio in-plane to out-of-plane polarization 0-0 band at 2·1 K amounts intensity I ‖/I ⊥ ≈ 2. The implications these results different SOC pathways are analysed.
