摘要: A ‘semi-executive’ model for Australian mayors, inclusive of direct election, is presently being explored in the local sector (see, particular, Sansom, 2012). This paper takes advantage differences across Australia's federation to examine recent experience directly elected mayors Queensland, especially results government elections held 2012. It argued that several factors contributed high turnover rates both and councillors, including 2012 Queensland state election 2008 amalgamation process.
