摘要: This paper reviews the literature on effect of pre- and postharvest treatment effects quality avocado fruit. It is evident from that pre-harvest factors such as ambient field temperature water stress affects physiology The handling treatments environmental conditions identified were pre-packaging treatments, different density packaging films, storage cyclic environments during fruit cold chain. Temperature was found to have greatest influence physical, sensory chemical after harvest. Maintenance an optimal regime harvest final market destination is, therefore, required maintain quality. varying relative humidity with time chain in South Africa requires further study.   Key words: Pre-packaging, packaging, conditions, quality, chain, Africa.
