摘要: IN mouse nerve iso- and allografts, Schwann cells transplanted from the donor animal survive, multiply within graft and, eventually, ensheath axons regenerating host nerve1–3. This demonstration of persistence in grafts has made possible vivo study cell interactions genetically-determined neuropathies. By combining normal abnormal nerves, each originating different strains mice, a primary abnormality been demonstrated Trembler3 Quaking4 mutant mice while axonal factors seem to be responsible for changes spinal roots dystrophic mice5,6. We report here successful transplantation into immunologically-suppressed human control patients sural child with metachromatic leukodystrophy. Metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD) is autosomal recessive disease due aryl sulphatase deficiency characterised by degeneration central peripheral nervous systems intracellular accumulations granules7,8.
