Development of high voltage step-up transformer as a substitute for a Marx generator

摘要: A new type of pulse transformer has been developed as a substitute for Marx generator. In the amorphous metallic cores are utilized with windings cylindrical conductors. As result, low leakage inductance is realized high breakdown strength. The coupling coefficient estimated to be more than 0.99. By using winding ratio 1:3, Blumlein forming line capacitance 20 nF successfully charged up 270 kV by capacitor bank 240 nF, 90 kV. High speed charging time=250 ns efficiency energy transfer (energy from was evaluated 76%).
