摘要: Stromal tumors of the gut (GISTs) have rarely been analyzed for genetic alterations. This study aimed at determining telomerase activity and expression subunits human reverse transcriptase (hTRT) RNA (hTR) in GISTs extragastrointestinal neurogenic or myogenic sarcomas. Telomerase was investigated using telomeric repeat amplification protocol assay 21 GISTs, recurrences liver metastases from 16 patients, 22 leiomyosarcomas malignant peripheral nerve sheath (MPNSTs), which served as reference tumors. Expression hTRT hTR mRNA transcription-PCR. Thirteen were localized stomach three small intestine. Two benign. In one case, biological behavior uncertain. 67% high found, whereas noted only 18% 48% MPNSTs. There no two benign GISTs. tumor intestine, primary showed first but a marked its recurrence. with uncertain behavior, weak. all showing activity, catalytic subunit expressed. All sarcomas expressed hTR. comparison MPNSTs, higher which, however, not seen It is possible that occurs during progression correlation between hTRT.
