Thermal electron periodicities at 20RS in Saturn's magnetosphere

摘要: Cassini fields and particles observations show clear evidence of periodic phenomena in Saturn's magnetosphere. Periodicities have been observed kilometric radio emissions, total electron density (in the inner magnetosphere), magnetic fields, energetic outer magnetosphere). In this letter first analysis periodicities thermal densities magnetosphere are presented. Plasma sheet temperatures at 20 +/- 2 R-S studied examined as a function SLS3 longitude. Evidence for minimum 170 degrees is presented which excellent agreement with results 3-5 range. The asymmetry interpreted result plasma motion where northward offset varies longitude hence producing modulation equatorial plane. effect magnetospheric compressions on dayside discussed.
