摘要: [1] In the late stage of a substorm growth phase, magnetic field in near-Earth region is highly stretched. We assume that such conditions can lead to violation frozen-in-flux condition, allowing transfer plasma from one flux tube another and creating blob tailward bubble. In this letter we present results simulation where artificially impose bubble-blob pair by introducing disturbance PV5/3 sheet. subsequent evolution, as calculated equilibrium version Rice Convection Model (RCM-E), bubble surges earthward moves tailward, while between them weakens localized cross-tail current density increases. speculate that, at onset, there could be positive feedback which breakdown frozen-in condition would increasingly make sheet thinner until reconnection occurs.
