RESULTS: A total 26.5% examined died, none them due PEG-related complications. Out 18 8 suffered from diabetes mellitus, thus showing positive correlation mortality. thirty-day rate was 1.5%; 30.9% males 23.1% females developed early peristomal infection, 4.4% stomal leakage, 1 patient pulled out tube patient, accidentally, occurred remove tube. None major complication occurred. During observation period nutritional parameters had been good 10 patients, followed 33.3 +/- 16.1 months. These indexes were reduced with significant statistical difference deaed patients. Only 20.6% improved their autonomy, valued by Barthel index (BI), while other BI remained = 10. CONCLUSIONS: This confirmed safety terms presence mellitus increased significantly they survivors. Nevertheless, nutrition slightest influence on functional status.
