摘要: This study was aimed to evaluate and compare the effect of chronic hypoxia aging in oxidative status brain vessels synaptosomes. For this purpose we isolated synaptosomes from 3- 12-month-old rats subjected (10% O2 for 7 days) or normoxia (21% O2). Several parameters were evaluated: mitochondrial aconitase activity, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) malondialdehyde (MDA) levels enzymatic [superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, glutathione peroxidase (GPx) reductase (GR)] non-enzymatic [glutathione (GSH), disulfide (GSSG) vitamin E] antioxidant defences. Concerning vessels, observed an age-dependent increase MDA SOD, GR GPx activities. In young animals, induced H2O2, GSSG E CuZnSOD catalase activities a decrease GSH levels. mature GSH/GSSG ratio, aconitase, MnSOD H2O2 levels, activity. activity Our results show that promotes potentiates imbalance predisposing neurodegeneration. Further, are differently affected by supporting idea existence tissue-specific susceptibilities.
