摘要: Flows of metal melts are outstanding importance for a variety technological processes, especially steel production, such as the continuous casting process. In recent developments, application magnetic fields is investigated to influence flow in defined way and optimize quality resulting product. Experimental investigations indispensable understand interaction between induced flows. The ultrasound pulse Doppler technique appropriate investigations. However, available devices employ only strongly limited number transducers, which often not sufficient mapping. order overcome these limitations dual-plane, dual-component array velocimeter mapping transient phenomena presented. It utilizes four sensor arrays consisting 25 single element transducers along line 67 mm. system combines spatial resolution up 3 mm with temporal 30 Hz using electronic beam traversing time division multiplex. modular realization measurement allows flexible configuration, e. g. planes can be measured one velocity component, two components or lines three components. Those capabilities demonstrated by measurements magnetically stirred melt at room temperature.
