Integrated opioid substitution therapy and HIV care: a qualitative systematic review and synthesis of client and provider experiences

摘要: People who use drugs in many contexts have limited access to opioid substitution therapy and HIV care. Service integration is one strategy identified support increased access. We reviewed synthesized literature exploring client provider experiences of integrated care identify acceptable approaches delivery. systematically qualitative literature. searched nine bibliographic databases, supplemented by manual searches reference lists articles from the database search, relevant journals, conferences, key organizations consultation with experts. Thematic synthesis was used develop descriptive themes experiences. The search yielded 11 for inclusion, along 8 expert policy reports. five themes: convenience comprehensive nature co-located care, contrasting philosophies their role shaping integration, limits disclosure communication between clients providers, enabling engagement, health system challenges delivering services. discussion explores how needs adapt specific social conditions, rather than following universal approaches. priorities future research.
