摘要: The idea of retinal cell transplantation as a potential treatment for age-related degeneration, leading cause blindness in the western world, has been around number years. To date, however, it not entirely successful; one main reasons this is lack an ideal substratum cells, specifically growth pigment epithelial cells prior to transplantation. This chapter reviews reasoning behind treatment, development animal models human trials, prerequisites substratum, past and current research on materials, future developments area.
