摘要: Analytical methods are needed to determine the presence of color additives in fish. We report a liquid chromatographic (LC) method developed identify synthetic form additive astaxanthin salmon, based on differences relative ratios configurational isomers astaxanthin. The distributions flesh wild Atlantic and Pacific salmon similar, but significantly different from that aquacultured salmon. Astaxanthin is extracted passed through silica gel Sep-Pak cartridge, analyzed directly by LC Pirkle covalent L-leucine column. No derivatization required-an important advantage our approach, which modification previously described method. This can be used distinguish between has general applicability also astaxanthins derived other sources such as Phaffia yeast Haematococcus pluvialis algae.
