摘要: Cholesterol-dependent cytolysins (CDCs) are produced by a large number of pathogenic Gram-positive bacteria. Most these single-chain proteins secreted in the extracellular medium. Among species producing CDCs, only two belonging to genus Listeria (Listeria monocytogenes and ivanovii) able multiply intracellularly release their toxins phagosomal compartment infected host cell. This review provides an updated overview on importance listeriolysin O (LLO) pathogenicity L. monocytogenes, focusing mainly aspects: (1) structure-function relationship LLO (2) its role intra- signalling. We first examine specific sequence determinants, or protein domains, that make this cytolysin so well adapted intracellular lifestyle monocytogenes. The roles has cellular signalling events context relations pathogenesis also discussed.
