摘要: Summary We demonstrate the utility of focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy combined with energy dispersive x-ray spectrometry for 3D morphological and elemental correlative analysis subcellular features. Although recent advances in super-resolution light techniques traditional transmission methods can provide cellular imaging at a wide range length scales, simultaneous features nanometre scale only be achieved such as capability. We technique by analysing silicon cell wall structure marine diatom, Thalassiosira pseudonana. This study also highlights limitations its current state suggests several possible improvements needed routine use biological specimens.
