摘要: PURPOSE. To perform a descriptive analysis of the effects on ocular blood flow transpupillary thermotherapy (TTT) for occult subfoveal choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVMs) in age-related macular degeneration (AMD). METHODS. Eleven subjects with CNVM due to AMD were assessed masked fashion by color Doppler imaging (CDI) within 24 hours before, after, and 1 month after undergoing TTT. RESULTS. In posterior ciliary arteries (PCAs), there no statistically significant changes observed peak systolic velocity (PSV), end diastolic (EDV), or resistive index (RI) at hours. At month, mean EDV decreased 36% (P 5 0.0105) RI increased 3.8% 0.0305) nasal PCA. Although was similar trend temporal PCA, differences did not reach statistical significance. central retinal artery (CRA), PSV 16% 0.0137), 21% 0.0222) treatment. There CRA indices ophthalmic artery, PSV, EDV, CONCLUSIONS. TTT is associated transiently volumetric circulation that supply choroid, hours, but decrease an increase PCAs, reaching significance PCA only. This study suggests could lead alterations flow, as CDI. Further warranted. (Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci. 2001;42:3337‐3340)
