摘要: Objective To determine retinal function after transpupillary thermotherapy (TTT) for subfoveal choroidal neovascularization using multifocal electroretinograms (mfERGs). Methods Multifocal were recorded before and TTT (wavelength, 810 nm; diameter, 3 mm; duration, 60 seconds; power, 350 mW) in 9 eyes patients with neovascularizations. The stimulus consisted of 7 hexagons; the central hexagon covered laser-irradiated area surrounding 6 hexagons nonirradiated area. Each recording was completed within 1 minute, mfERGs periodically during first minutes also at 24 hours week TTT. Results amplitude from irradiated areas significantly reduced minute ( P Conclusions We found reduction focal ERGs TTT, transient peak-time delay 15 minutes, a hours. Early is probably directly caused by an increase temperature as previously reported flicker ERGs. Peak-time delays may be other factors, such increased intracellular calcium (Ca 2+ ), release nitric oxide or heat shock proteins, vasodilation, change neovascularization. Our findings indicate that useful tool evaluating procedures.
