摘要: Pigs slaughtered at an abattoir in Trinidad were sampled for the occurrence of Yersinia, Listeria and Campylobacter different sites. The antibiograms Yersinia isolates also determined. Of 141 samples each rectal tongue swabs taken, 23(16·1%) 9(6·4%) positive Y. enterocolitica compared to 11(7·3%) 150 tonsillar yielding organism. Rectal had a statistically significantly ( P ≤ 0·05, x 2 ) higher frequency isolation than or swabs. All 43 serotype O:3 biotype 4. From total 139 cultured thermophilic , 75(51·8%) C. coli 3(2·2%) jejuni . difference was significant 0·001; ). Carcass yielded more 27(17·4%) 4(2·6%) 155 cultured. Seven (5·0%) tested monocytogenes while only 3(1·9%) carcass organism but not ≥ 0·05; Nine 10 L. 4 one 1. Resistance highest penicillin (100·0%), neomycin (100·0%) least gentamycin (2·3%) sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim (0·0%). It concluded that O:3, is predominant pigs particularly 4, from pork carcasses may pose health risk consumers.
