摘要: The cause of pediatric diarrhea in Brazil was investigated with use assays for toxigenic and invasive bacteria. Potential etiologic agents were identified 31 40 consecutive children diarrhea: Escherichia coli or klebsiella 20 patients (50 per cent); Esch, salmonella four (10 cent), both organisms seven (18 cent). Fecal leukocytes present nine the 11 (82 cent) pathogens. All 27 isolates had that produced heat-labile cholera-like toxin; three Esch. also a heat-stable toxin. Among controls without there no toxin tissue invasion, but one only salmonella. In this population appears to most acute diarrheas due pathogenic mechanisms.
