摘要: Twenty-eight United States adult travelers to developing countries participated in a prospective study designed determine whether there was an association between diarrheal illness and the acquisition of strains enteropathogenic Escherichia coli. Stool specimens were collected stored transport media before, during, after travel at onset any illness. From each specimen, five E. coli colonies screened for enterotoxin production with suckling mouse test, three tested penetration epithelial cells (Ser6ny test). Positive serotyped. Eleven 28 experienced Of these, four (36%) acquired enterotoxin-producing time None 17 well had identifiable enterotoxinproducing or travel. No that penetrated found. Three serotype 027:K -:H20, not previously recorded Center Disease Control. This suggests coli, as detected by may be significant cause traveler's diarrhea adults.
