摘要: Rationing by waiting time is commonly used in health care systems with zero or low money prices. Some prioritise particular types of patient and offer them lower times. We investigate whether prioritisation welfare improving when the benefit from treatment sum two components, one which not observed providers. show that positive (shorter waits for patients higher observable benefit) if mean who are indifferent about receiving smaller than receive treatment. This true (a) distribution unobservable uniform any benefit; (b) log-concave. also never increasing only negative exponential. Copyright © 2007 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
