Crystalline color superconductivity

摘要: In any context in which color superconductivity arises nature, it is likely to involve pairing between species of quarks with differing chemical potentials. For suitable values the differences potentials, Cooper pairs nonzero total momentum are favored, as was first realized by Larkin, Ovchinnikov, Fulde, and Ferrell (LOFF). Condensates this sort spontaneously break translational rotational invariance, leading gaps vary periodically a crystalline pattern. Unlike original LOFF state, these quark matter condensates include both spin-zero spin-one pairs. We explore range parameters for QCD phase diagram. If some shell within core neutron star (or strange star) number densities such that arises, vortices may be pinned shell, making locus glitch phenomena.
