摘要: AIM Increasing numbers of migrants to Sweden are screened for tuberculosis (TB), and a rational approach screening is required. We evaluated positive tuberculin skin tests (TSTs) interferon-gamma release assays (IGRAs) on paediatric in relation the TB incidence corresponding foreign-born populations Stockholm. METHODS This study examined characteristics under age 18 who were referred clinic at Karolinska University Hospital from 2008 2014 by primary care centres Stockholm County. RESULTS saw 943 TST-positive children with median 14 years performed IGRAs 557. IGRA positivity ranged 64% Somalia 20% those former Soviet Union eastern Europe, an estimated population level prevalence 18.8% 4.2%, respectively. These significantly correlated children. diagnosed active 20 migrants, advanced, symptomatic was 10 recently arrived without screening. CONCLUSION showed higher specificity than TST identifying tuberculosis. should focus high-incidence countries, but this may be inadequate detect advanced cases.
