摘要: Simulated acoustic emission signals were induced in a thinwalled graphite/epoxy tube by means of lead breaks (Hsu-Neilsen source). The is similar material and layup to be used NASA fabricating the struts Space Station Freedom. resulting waveforms detected broad band ultrasonic transducers digitized. Measurements velocities extensional flexural modes made for propagation directions along axis (0 degrees), around circumference (90 degrees) at an angle 45 degrees. These found agreement with classical plate theory.
