摘要: Abstract Background/objective A stem sitting proud (SP) or that above the final rasp position remains in some patients who undergo hip replacement using proximally coated tapered wedge stems. Surgeons may face challenges providing best fit because of unpredictable SP Zimmer Inc. introduced a new to solve this issue but clinical results have not yet been published. Therefore, our aim was address following: (1) What is incidence cementless stem? (2) Does system (0-mm rasp) improve seating height? and (3) are risk factors SP? Methods We performed retrospective study with 338 hips, which Tri-Lock Bone Preservation Stem (BPS) used 181 hips M/L Taper 157 (82 before 75 after 0-mm use). positive defined as height >2 mm. analysed compared two stems use. Results An 13% BPS 15% substantially decreased use (4%). The significant factor for high offset option BPS. Conclusion present potential problems related SP. showed improvement initial height. translational article This conducted understand “stem proud” one most popular designs nowadays adult joint arthroplasty field. In study, we aimed proud, investigated effect
