摘要: Abstract Ethnopharmacological relevance Kalanchoe intergra (Ki) leaf extract is an orally administered multipurpose plant medicine in Ghana and other parts of the world for treatment ulcers, pain adenoma prostate gland. There paucity information concerning its short-term usage. The present study aimed at conducting histopathological biochemical studies a 14-day sub-acute toxicity using female Sprague-Dawley rats. Materials methods Crude Ki leaves was prepared freeze-dried. A conducted 2 week old nulliparous non-pregnant rats (120–150 g). Reconstituted dosage 900 mg kg−1 (high dose), 300 mg kg−1 with control group receiving equivalent volume distilled water (as vehicle) by gastric lavage. Histopathological major organs blood chemistry analysis were performed on obtained via cardiac puncture into EDTA tubes after euthanisation. Results significant decrease urea (p Conclusion non-toxic when oral route over time period 14 days above doses.
