摘要: High failure rates are expected in the treatment of osteoporotic proximal femoral fractures. A newly designed neck locking dynamic hip screw has been developed to increase fixation strength; a biomechanical examination was performed prove its efficacy. Femoral surrogate specimens were used for test. Unstable intertrochanteric fractures created on specimens. Then these divided into two groups test different methods fixation: (1) conventional and (2) new screw. For each specimen, peak cyclic loading 800 N, total 20,000 cycles applied. The vertical displacement, rotation around long axis lag screw, varus center head between compared at specific intervals. All constructs failed within 1000 cycles, while no gross mechanical recorded construct even after cycles. comparing end demonstrated that is stronger than fractures, can provide support what do. At same time, be suitable site application screws.
