摘要: Papaya leaf curl virus (PaLCuV) is a begomovirus (genus Begomovirus; family Geminiviridae) with monopartite genome that usually associated beta- and alphasatellites in plants. Geminiviruses are DNA viruses small circular genomes occur as minichromosomes the nucleus susceptible to post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS) transcriptional (TGS). Transient expression of PaLCuV V2 (PV2) protein together green fluorescent (GFP) Nicotiana benthamiana resulted enhanced levels GFP fluorescence mRNA, indicative suppression PTGS. Expression PV2 from Potato X vector restored N. plants harbouring transcriptionally silenced transgene, TGS. The results show encoded by has both suppressor PTGS TGS activity an important factor overcoming host RNA-silencing based defenses.
