Broadband light trapping in thin organic photovoltaic cells using plasmonic resonant antennas

摘要: A numerical investigation of plasmonic resonant antennas influence on optical absorption efficiency organic photovoltaic (PV) cells with thin active layers is reported. Integrating cylindrical Ag PV can enhance by up to 22%, over a broad bandwidth operation. This corresponds an increase in integrated AM1.5G at normal incidence from 48 58.5%. Broadband enhancement observed for transverse-electric and transverse-magnetic polarized incident light, wide angle range. It attributed converting sunlight surface plasmon modes, localized around the antenna/polymer layer interface. results strong field enhances efficiency.
