摘要: MTSS is a benign, though painful, condition, and common problem in the running athlete. It prevalent among military personnel, runners, dancers, showing an incidence of 4% to 35%. Common names for this include shin splints, soleus syndrome, tibial stress periostitis. The exact cause condition unknown. Previous theories included inflammatory response periosteum or periosteal traction reaction. More recent evidence suggests painful reaction bone. most proven risk factors are hyperpronation foot, female sex, history previous MTSS. Patient evaluation based on meticulous taking physical examination. Even diagnosis remains clinical, imaging studies, such as plain radiographs bone scans usually sufficient, although MRI useful borderline cases rule out more significant pathology. Conservative treatment almost always successful includes several options; none has superior rest. Prevention programs do not seem influence rate MTSS, shock-absorbing insoles have reduced rates ESWT shortened duration symptoms. Surgery rarely indicated but shown some promising results patients who responded all conservative options.
