摘要: Objectives To study the acute effects of radiotherapy after mastectomy and immediate transverse rectus abdominis myocutaneous (TRAM) flap reconstruction in breast cancer patients treated at Ramathibodi Hospital. Material method Between January 2004 March 2005, ten (age 32-51 years) were with postoperative TRAM reconstruction. Medical records these retrospectively reviewed. Radiotherapy was delivered to chest wall reconstructed using 6-MV x-ray or Cobalt-60. The total dose 45 50.4 Gy 25 28 fractions. Patients evaluated weekly during course radiation then 1 2 months treatment completion determine toxicities radiation. Results During radiation, 3 developed erythema mild hyperpigmentation skin, 4 moderate hyperpigmentation. Three who Cobalt-60 and/or bolus skin desquamation (1 dry desquamation, moist desquamation). No patient required a break because side effects. One received chemotherapy recalled desquamation. Conclusion is well tolerated not associated increased complication interruption. authors have noticed that given related severe reaction, so it should be used caution.
